23 Days and 22 Nights trip to Myanmar

Day01 : Arrival Yangon

Arrive in Yangon international airport, our guide will meet and welcome you. And transfer to your hotel. Visit to Gan Daw Gyi Park and taking photos to the view of Shwedagon Pagoda. Stay overnight at Rose Garden.

Day02 : Yangon Sightseeing (Car/Train)

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to Yangon central railway station for taking Circular train. It is a worth trip to know the true life of local people who are vendors, government employees, students who take circular train for their daily transportation. It is a loop system connected 39 stations of rural and some ghetto area. The facilities of train is no air-condition, no TV. But you will have the moving scene and fresh air by passing through the opened windows. Visit to ChaukHtatGyi paya and Bogyoke market, Sule Pagoda. Taking photos around coronial building then continue to Botahtaung pagodas which is not the original, the ancient pagoda was destroyed by bombing during World War Two and a replica structure built in its place. Relics excavated from the treasure chamber were re-enshrined. Late afternoon stroll around China Town then last visit to the great Shwe dagon Pagoda. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day03 : Yangon – Dala -Twantay Sightseeing (Car/Boat)

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to the Nanthidar port and involve in different scene of the Yangon River. After that take a public ferry boat and cross the River to visit to Dala morning vegetable market by tri Shaw then proceed to Twantay small town for excursion port making and visit around there and turn back to Yangon. Enjoy for the sunset and local activities from the Yangon River. Stay overnight at hotel.

Day04 : Yangon – Pyay (Car)

After breakfast drive to Pyay (286 km – 6 hours), on the way visit to Shwe Taung Pagoda called Shwe MyatMan (golden spectacles) which very rare to see and strange for you a Buddha image which is wearing glass then continue to Pyay and check in Hotel. At the afternoon visits to ancient city of PYU civilization and Museum. An ancient 'Pyu' Capital lies 8 km south-east of Pyay ( Prome) is located about 286 km north-west of Yangon. Archaeological discoveries indicate that the city attained its height of prosperity between the 5th and 9th centuries. In Tha-ye-khit-taya one will find palace site the prototype of Bagan vaulted temple such as Lemyethna and East Zegu the cylinder-shaped Bawbawgyi Pagoda, Payagyi and Payama stupas each with a high conical dome and the Archaeological Museum. Sri Ksetra was the capital of the Pyu dynasty of Vikrama. The city was circular with walls enclosing an around of 46 km2 (18 sq mi), making it the largest walled city in Southeast Asia during its peak. The city contained both housing and also farms, as evident from the remains of water ways and tanks which have been discovered. The extensive ruins have been the subject of intensive archaeological investigation and now world heritage. Stay overnight at Mingalar Garden Hotel.

Day05 : Pyay - Bagan (Car)

After breakfast at your hotel then drive to Bagan (350 km - 9hours), you can observe ways of life the farmer all around the way and scenery of the central Myanmar the valley of Ayeyarwaddy River. After arrival Bagan check in to hotel, and enjoy the breathtaking sunset from one of the suitable temple of Bagan if time is enough for today. Stay overnight at Bagan Thande River View Hotel (old Bagan).

Day06 : Bagan Sightseeing

Breakfast at your hotel and start to visit temple in Bagan (As your wish morning or evening by horse cart and car), Thayokepyay temple, Sulamuni temple, Damayangyi temple, Nan Paya temple & stop for lunch. After lunch, visit to lacquer ware workshops. The rest of the day, enjoy for taking horse cart around Bagan. Then proceed to the Shwesandaw Pagoda for sunset. Stay overnight at Bagan Thande River view Hotel (old Bagan).

Day07 : Bagan full day Sightseeing

Early morning take a walk for seeing the fantastic sun rise view of Bagan from suitable Temple. Then back to hotel for breakfast. After that, start for hopping temple in Bagan: Shwezigon pagoda, Kyansittha cave, Thagyabone temple and stop for lunch. Afternoon visit to Ananda temple which is one of the finest, largest, best preserved of Bagan, completed in AD 1091 built by the King Kyansit. The structure of the Ananda Temple is that of a simple corridor temple. Four large vestibules, each opening axis surround the central super structure which itself is inlaid with four huge niches. In the niches facing the cardinal point are four tall Buddha images measuring 9.5 meters (31 feet) on carved lotus pedestal. Sunset at suitable temple and stay overnight at Bangan Thande river view Hotel.

Day08 : Bagan – Popa - Mandalay (by boat)

After breakfast drive to Mt Popa 50 km far from Bagan which is like an Oasis of arid zone. Mt Popa is an extinct volcano it is 1518 m above sea level. The tour highlights for this region is visit to Popa Taung Kalat a volcanic plug which is 737 m above the sea level. At the top of the summit there have the religious edifice with 777 steps to reach there. And tradition said that Mt Popa is considered the abode of Nats (powerful sprits) and worship center. After that, drive back to Bagan. On the way visits the nature and way of life of Toddy climber family. They produced jaggery and palm juice. The toddy farmer takes a sap twice a day. He starts his job for climbing and collecting the sap at every morning around 5 am to 11 am and at 2 to 7 pm. He can climb 50 trees per day. You may try and taste palm juice and palm sugar. After visit Mt.Popa drive to Mandalay and stay overnight Ayeyarwaddy river view hotel.

Day09 : Mandalay – Amarupura - Mandalay

In the morning visit to Amarapura one of the ancient capitals of Kongbaung dynasty founded by King Bodawpaya in 1783.Tour highlight include Mahaghandaryon monastery over 1000 monks are living and studying Buddhism there you can observe the daily life of Theravada Buddhist monks, after that visit bronze making, silk weaving, stone carving, Aung nan wood carving and tapestry. And then visit to MaharMyatMuni temple which is the holiest site for upper Myanmar. You can see the process of gold leave making, stone carving, brass casting, golden monastery and world heritage of the world largest books (Kudodaw Pagoda). Stay overnight at Ayeyarwaddy River view Hotel.

Day10 : Mandalay – Hsibaw (by train)

Early morning transfer to Mandalay railway station to take a train to Hsibaw which is 200 km far from Mandalay. As the passenger train, is a slow train the trip will take approximately 10 hours to reach Hsibaw. It will stop a few wayside stations. After passes the Goteik station 100 km of Mandalay you will pass the Goteik viaduct which is the highest railway bridge in Myanmar and the second largest railway trestle in the world. It is 690m long and 335m high from the ground. The bridge was constructed in 1897 and completed in 1900 by Pennsylvania and Maryland Bridge Construction. The components were made by the Pennsylvania Steel Company, and the parts were shipped from the United States. The rail line was constructed as a way for the British Empire to expand their influence in the region. Later you get in Hsibaw situated in the river bank of Namatu River which is the major tributary of Ayeyawaddy River and flow at near Ava as Myitnge River. Stay overnight at Hsibaw resort (Amata resort).

Day11 : Hsibaw day trek

After breakfast visit to Shan noodles factory it will take 20 minutes from hotel. And start trek to Shan villages, on the way you will see the different scenic and vegetables plantations. Most of the people in this region use a Shan dialect. Take a picnic lunch in one of the village. Enjoy the atmosphere of water fall on the way back to Hsibaw. Arrive back to the hotel take a rest a while. In the evening take a bike tour around the town and lead to the foot of Payakoesu Taung or Nine Buddha hill. Leave the bike at the foot of the hill and climb up to the hill for the sunset and panoramic view of Hsibaw and Namtu River. Stay overnight at at Hsibaw resort (Amata resort).

Day12 : Hsibaw (trek/boat)

The misty morning will have a start of a few minutes trek to bank of Doathtawaddy River, one of the most beautiful and unspoiled rivers in Myanmar, which some villagers use for trading by bamboo rafts and small boats. Get a pleasurable up-stream boat trip for an hour, and then have another trekking to a Shan monastery looked like a monastic primary school, where about four monks and 12 novices live, among the vegetables fields and forest for an hour and a half. During their lunch time is the best for photography and then back to our boat and begin the next breath-taking trek along the line of colorful trees, different fruits and flowers to a village namely Sein Lone Shan Village. Take an easy time in the midst of pleasant atmosphere there. In the time of trekking back to hotel, catch the sunset on the way. Stay overnight at hotel in Hsibaw.

Day13 : Hsibaw – Pyin Oo Lwin – Mandalay (Car)

In the morning take a coach to Pyin Oo Lwin for 3 hours drive. On the way visit Baw Jo Pagoda. Arrive at Pyin Oo Lwin which is the summer capital for visitors and it is also well known as the highland city of flowers. The town was founded in 1896 by Colonel May .In Pyin Oo Lwin the climate is cool all the year round and pleasant. Visit to the botanical garden, central market and enjoys fresh fruits which grow around the town. Continue drive to Mandalay. Stay overnight at Ayeyarwaddy river view hotel.

Day14 : Mandalay- Inle Lake (Car)

After breakfast at your hotel then drive to Kalaw which is almost the same altitude with Pyin Oo Lwin but Kalaw is higher altitude. The weather is more pleasant than Pyin Oo Lwin both of towns were British hill station once. So you can see many Colonial building at Kalaw. Enjoy for all the way up to Southern part of Shan High Land after you passed the center region. After arrival to Kalaw then check in to your hotel. The rest of evening you can stroll around hill region, stay overnight at hotel.

Day15 : Inle Lake full day sightseeing

Inle Lake which is 22 km long and 10 km wide, there are over 350 villages and over 200 monasteries. Early morning visit to Shwe Indain local market according to five day market schedule of Inle Lake region. And proceed to Indein village situated southwest part of Inle Lake by taking a winding creek. Indein is a small village of Inntha and Pa-O tribe. There are over 1058 of ruined religious monuments of during 14 to 18 century. And return back to jetty by passing through a small bamboo forest. After that continuing the trip, tour included famous Phaung Daw Oo temple the holiest religious site in southern Shan state, silk and lotus fiber weaving center ,blacksmith work shop, Gold and silversmith workshop, boat making place and Nge pe Chaung monastery which is over 165 years old and like a Buddhist museum. Enjoy a spectacular sunset from your hotel.

Day16 : Inle Lake – Heho – Yangon

After breakfast at your hotel and check out then drive to Nyaung Shwe and continues to Heho airport flight to Yangon by Air KBZ K-7 267 (11:10/12:25). After arrival to Yangon International, transfer to your hotel and the rest of the day will be free time and relax.
